Kim Kardashian, one of the most famous people on the planet, is worshipped by many people. Most of them including teenage girls. Although she has no particular talent to justify her fame, she is entertaining in some way. Sometimes people don’t enjoy celebrities for what they intentionally do, sometimes they like them for what they do unconsciously. Kim Kardashian is the best at doing this. In her hit show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, she basically makes the show popular by just living. You can clearly see how much someone can worship a celebrity. Why the show is popular? Nobody knows. This is just one of the many examples of celebrity worship.
Let’s move on to an example of celebrity worship that makes sense. Justin Bieber, the teenage sensation became the most famous person in the world in a matter of months if you think about it. His musical talent caught the eye of a person that could make him someone and that’s exactly what he did. Justin Bieber is worshipped by a vast amount of people throughout the globe. There are posters of him everywhere and 9/10 people know the name “Justin Bieber”. I believe this is a perfect example of celebrity worship.
In conclusion, celebrity worship is actually a thing in the 21st century. Although it is very similar to hero worship, it is not the same. Heroes inspire people to do things that can change the world. Celebrities can do that in many cases, but in my opinion most a lot of modern day celebrities just entertain the world. That is what I think of celebrity worship.
